Berkeley Unified School District and the Berkeley Federation of Teachers recognize the importance of maintaining safe learning opportunities for the benefit of the students and communities served by the District and its teachers and staff. To this end, the BUSD Board of Education decided at its July 15th, 2020 meeting that the 2020-2021 school year will begin with distance learning, and this decision was affirmed by the California Governor in his July 17th orders related to school reopening.
