In June 2018, the City entered into a new 20-year franchise agreement with McLeodUSA Telecommunications for the non-exclusive use of City rights-of-way for installation and maintenance of certain telecommunication lines owned by McLeodUSA Telecommunications. These McLeodUSA telecommunication lines and related equipment that are situated in the City rights-of-way and subject to the June 2018 Right-of-Way Use Agreement have recently been acquired by a subsidiary of Uniti Group Inc. (Uniti Fiber) – being CSL Realty LLC. While these telecommunication lines are now owned by this new entity, McLeodUSA continues to use and maintain these telecommunication lines and related equipment that are located in the City’s rights-of-way at various locations throughout the City.
