Under an act passed by the New York State Legislature and by agreement between the City and the municipal employee unions, employees in titles which are represented in collective bargaining but who are not union members are subject to a deduction from their salary in an amount equal to the amount payable by a union member. (Employees should contact their respective unions if they would like to become dues paying members).
