This revision is based upon the previously published version from March 2017 and has come about in recognition of a need for greater collaboration between local planning authorities, health service organisations and public health agencies to plan for future growth and to promote health. It reflects changes in national planning policy and the need for health service organisations to deliver on the commitments within the 5 year forward view1. This revision recognises both the emergence of the Sustainability and Transformation Partnership, moves toward integrated care systems and the publication on 24th July 2018 of the revised National Planning Policy Framework
