Under the Trade and Cooperation Agreement (TCA) which regulates post-Brexit trade between the EU and UK, from 1 January 2024 Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs) must have at least 50% of their battery cells by value and 60% of the battery pack sourced locally or face additional import and export tariffs between the UK and the EU.
