This Agreement entered into by the Town of Monroe, hereinafter referred to as the "Town" and Local 818 of Council #4, American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, AFL-CIO, hereinafter refenced to as the "Union" has as its purpose the promotion of harmonious relations between the Town and the Union; the establishment of an equitable and peaceful procedure for the resolution of differences; the establishment of rates of pay, hours of work and other conditions of employment. Whenever the masculine or feminine gender is used in this Agreement, it shall be construed to refer equally to either gender.
