This contract is dedicated to Officer Adib Goda. Adib was hired by the Metro Transit Police on May 14th, 2007. He was later sworn in with Recruit Class 79. He served proudly as an officer with the Patrol Division for the entirety of his career. His personal interests included watching the World Cup, as well as the NY Jets and NY Knicks. He was a surprisingly good basketball player, and he had a mean jump shot. He was an observant Muslim. You could always rely upon Adib to have your back on the street. He embodied those characteristics that we should all seek to emulate on a daily basis—he was humble, cheerful, respectful, strong, and kind. Adib is survived by his family and many friends on the Metro Transit Police Department. Prior to his death, he retired honorably on April 1st, 2017. It is fitting that this contract be dedicated in honor of him. Though he is gone, he will never be forgotten.
