This agreement shall be for the purpose of investigating and evaluating an array of novel materials and engineered surface architectures relevant to lunar dust adhesion mitigation. Addressing the challenges associated with lunar dust contamination will enable successful NASA Artemis missions to the lunar surface, and exploration missions reaching further than the Moon. The testing and characterization aspects of this effort will be integrated with larger scale characterization activities already planned as part of the NASA Lunar Occupancy Dust Surface Separation Technologies (LO-DuSST) project.
