Contract Type FiledApril 22nd, 2014Much stronger is the wording used in the so-called Cotonou agree- ment, which is a Partnership Agreement concluded between the members of the African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States of the one part, and the European Community and its Member States, of the other part, signed in Cotonou on 23 June 2000. The idea behind this Partnership Agreement is a common commitment to work together towards the achievement of the objectives of poverty eradi- cation, sustainable development and the gradual integration of the ACP countries into the world economy. The Union’s policy is to make, through cooperation, a significant contribution to the econom- ic, social and cultural development of the ACP States and to the greater well-being of their population.
