This agreement recognises the unique and integral role Copeland Borough Council and Cumbria County Council play in the delivery of the UK’s programme of nuclear decommissioning, clean up and waste management at Sellafield. This Council recognises the importance of the decommissioning programme being undertaken by Sellafield Ltd and the NDA and likewise the NDA recognises the complexities and challenges placed upon the local authorities in supporting the NDA in progressing and delivering the mission at Sellafield.
