Agreement between ISMETT and UPMCI AnnexJoint Controllers Agreement • May 27th, 2019
ISMETT (Istituto Mediterraneo per i Trapianti e Terapie ad Alta Specializzazione) is a specialized center for end-stage organ failure treatment and research, created with an experimental management project, with the experience and know-how of UPMC (University of Pittsburgh Medical Center). In order to ensure this exchange of skills, ISMETT’s clinical and operational management was entrusted to the Italian subsidiary of the UPMC Group, UPMC Italy S.r.l. (“UPMCI”). The operational decisions concerning personal data processing performed at ISMETT are jointly enforced by ISMETT and UPMCI, entailing a joint controllers arrangement pursuant to art. 26 of the EU 2016/679 Regulation. As required by the above-mentioned article of the Regulation, ISMETT and UPMCI have entered an agreement to regulate mutual tasks and responsibilities. In particular, UPMCI is entrusted the task to submit management proposals, with the endorsement of ISMETT’s Board of Directors, for compliance with the Regulation
