This JOINT VENTURE AGREEMENT is hereby made and entered into by and between the USDA Forest Service Pacific Southwest Research Station, hereinafter referred to as the Forest Service, and California Cooperative Ecosystems Studies Unit, University of California – Berkeley hereinafter referred to as the Cooperator, under the provisions of the National Agricultural Research, Extension and Teaching Policy Act of 1977 (Public Law 95-113), as amended by the Food Security Act of 1985 (7 U.S.C., 3318 and 3319, Public Law 99-198).
