The City of Coral Springs (City) previously entered into a five (5) year License Agreement with the School Board of Broward County, Florida (SBBC) on April 20, 2010, and the agreement expired on December 31, 2014. Prior to expiration, District Staff contacted the City in pursuit of renewing the Agreement. However, the City did not pursue renewal. That License Agreement gave the City’s first responders, such as police officers, fire department, emergency medical technicians and others access to District school facilities during hurricanes and other natural disasters for staging purposes. Recently, the City indicated to District staff its desire to have the License Agreement reinstated to once again allow the City access to District school facilities during times of emergency.
