TARA Machines and Tech Services Private Limited (hereafter “TARA LTD”) is a social enterprise and an extension of the Development Alternatives Group. TARA LTD was established in March 2008 with the vision of facilitating high quality, affordable, green building materials for small and medium enterprises and meeting the aspirations of under-served homebuilders. To date, the group has predominantly worked across India with a few projects in Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cameroon, Indonesia, and Sri Lanka. Dr. Arun Kumar and Anamoy Ranjan (hereafter “TARA team”) have engaged students at the Yale School of Management (hereafter “SOM”) for consultation as part of the Global Social Entrepreneurship Program. TARA team seeks to better understand export opportunities available to TARA LTD, building on momentum in the aforementioned foreign countries. The SOM team consists of Randy Armstrong, Anna Ching, Adam Rose, Bettina Scott, and Ashraf Virk (hereafter the “SOM team”).
