Agenda Item No. 13Meeting Date: May 18, 2022 Resolution: No AGENDA DOCKET FORM SUBJECT: AUTHORIZE AGREEMENT FOR WETLAND MITIGATION ASSOCIATED WITH THE SHORTCUT PIPELINE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT PHASE 3 SUMMARY: The Contra Costa Water District (District) is proposing to use the Rheem Creek Preserve site in Richmond California to mitigate for permanent and temporary wetland impacts associated with the Shortcut Pipeline (SCPL) Improvement Project – Phase 3. The total compensation required for Phase 3 Project impacts to State and Federal jurisdictional wetlands will range between 0.63 and0.84 acres, depending on regulatory approval. Rheem Creek Mitigation, LLC (Rheem Creek) has additional wetland compensation it developed when the District obtained compensation for SCPL Phase 2 that if approved, can be used for SCPL Phase 3. The total cost of the remaining Rheem Creek wetland compensation is $690,000 which is sufficient to cover the requirements for SCPL Phase 3. (Continued on Page 2) FISCAL IM
