Policy:Early Intervention Service Provider Agreements Effective:Approved: July 1, 2019Updated: January 7, 2020 Federal Authority:Title 34 of the U.S. Code of Federal Regulations, Vol. II, Chapter III, Parts 300-399:§§ 303.121, 303.202 Title 20 of the U.S. Code of Law, Chapter 33. §§1400-1499:§§ 1432(4)(B), 1435(a)10 and (a)(11), 1437(a)(2), 1439(a), 1440. • The South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (SCDHHS) shall utilize provider agreements as a method of securing Early Intervention Services (EIS) for children and families. Individuals or organizations seeking to serve as EIS providers will meet the requirements and standards established by the South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services as lead agency for IDEA/Part C. Provider agreement approval and renewal processes include review of areas of the state with a shortage of EIS providers. All EIS providers are required to adhere to their agreement. • All EIS providers shall meet the federal definition of
