On 5 July 2018, the insurance companies affiliated with the Dutch Association of Insurers and the Dutch Association of Health Insurers concluded the Agreement on International Responsible Investment in the Insurance Sector1 (hereinafter: the Agreement) with the Dutch government, NGOs and a trade union (hereinafter: the Parties). The purpose of the Agreement is to make a positive impact on themes relating to the environment, social conditions and governance (hereinafter: ESG2) and to strive to mitigate any adverse impacts. Insurers acknowledge their responsibility to act in accordance with international guidelines, specifically:
