Every 10 years, the City signs new franchise agreements with utility and cable TV providers. Over the past decade, the cable TV landscape has changed tremendously as many subscribers have opted to “cut the cord” and move to streaming platforms. As such, the agreement here reflects that reality as i3 has indicated cable TV operations continue to diminish and may not exist in their current form 10 years from now.
