This is therefore the concept of promissory agreement such as conceived by the classical theory and which is of special interest for us since we consider that this is the concept which is followed by our Civil Code. In response thereto, we can define it as an agreement whereby one or both of the participating parties promise to sign a specific future agreement which they are presently unable or unwilling to sign, after a certain period of time has passed or when the stipulated conditions and other legal requirements have been fulfilled.
