Contract Type FiledNovember 24th, 2020 JurisdictionRELAP5 is an Information Systems Laboratories, Inc. (ISL), updated, maintained, and, in part, developed thermal-hydraulic computer code that models best-estimate transient and small- and large-break type accident simulation of postulated accidents in light water reactor coolant systems. The code models the coupled behavior of the reactor-coolant system and the core for loss-of- coolant accidents and operational transients, such as anticipated transient without SCRAM, loss of offsite power, loss of feedwater, and loss of flow, through a one-dimensional, two-fluid model consisting of steam and water. The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) recognizes the code for the aforementioned analysis.
