be allowed to make the specification him or herself without first having to ask the buyer to make the specification. However, the buyer will have the opportunity to make a differ- ent specification.5 If, however, the contract does not provide for a specific date on which the buyer must make a specification, the seller will be able to make the specification if the buyer fails to make the specification “within a reasonable time after receipt of a re- quest by the seller” (Article 65(1)). The reasonable time-period commences from the time the buyer receives the notice. Importantly, the burden is on the seller to ensure the notice is received.6‌
