Contract Type FiledSeptember 26th, 2017THIS AGREEMENT-IN-PRINCIPLE (“Agreement”) is entered into between the Shoshone- Bannock Tribes of the Fort Hall Indian Reservation (“Tribes”) and the United States Department of Energy (“DOE”). The Tribes and DOE agree that it is mutually beneficial to continue and improve upon the government-to-government relationship that is founded upon the Fort Bridger Treaty of July 3, 1868, 15 Stat. 673 (the “Treaty”), and which has evolved under a Working Agreement formalized between the parties on September 29, 1992, and a series of Agreements- in-Principle (AIP) dated August 6, 1998; September 27, 2000; December 10, 2002; December 3, 2007; and December 18, 2012. This Agreement supersedes the Working Agreement of September 29, 1992, and all previous AIPs referenced above and further defines a working relationship between the Tribes and DOE. This Agreement has no effect on or applicability to the Naval Reactor Facility activities.
