The United Nations1 (hereinafter referred to collectively as the “United Nations” or “UN” and individually as a “UN organisation”) and the European Commission (hereinafter referred to as the “Commission”) are willing to work together in a spirit of partnership in order to help achieve the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its Sustainable Development Goals, the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction (2015-2030), the Paris Agreement on Climate Change and the Addis Ababa Action Agenda on Financing for Development, and to ensure the most effective and efficient delivery of humanitarian assistance in the context of the increasing humanitarian needs worldwide.
