The written agreement provides guidance for successful completion of independent study and provides the authorization to substitute the student’s work completion for presence in the classroom. Student attendance is based on the time value of the work product and participation in synchronous instruction. A written agreement shall be developed and implemented for each student participating in independent study for five or more consecutive school days. For additional information on the district’s policy on Independent Study, please refer to Board Policy 6158 and Administrative Regulations 6158.
