The objective of this Agreement is that all Australian school students acquire the knowledge and skills to participate effectively in society and employment in a globalised economy. The Agreement will contribute to the achievement of the outcomes that a) all children are engaged in, and benefit from schooling, b) meet basic literacy and numeracy standards and that levels of achievement are improving, c) Australian students excel by international standards, d) schooling promotes the social inclusion and reduces the educational disadvantage of children, especially Indigenous children
