Contract Type FiledMarch 22nd, 2022This project is for design of the taxilane portion of the apron. The last PCI for the taxilane/apron was done in 2018 and ranged from 42 to 69, noting joint seal damage, linear cracking, patching and faulting. The report also indicated 16 slabs with ASR. The apron was placed at the same time as the runway and is showing similar signs of pavement distress as the runway. During the recent design of the Runway Rehabilitation a more detailed PCI inspection was performed, and the runway showed a drop of 33 PCI points from 2014 to 2016. The apron is deteriorating rapidly with D‐cracking, joint distress, and ASR failure similar to the runway that was rehabilitated as part of an FFY 2018 grant. No major rehabilitation work has been done on the apron since it was constructed in 1990.
