Contract Type FiledOctober 10th, 2024The purpose of this Memorandum of Understanding (MOU or Agreement) is to further the objectives of Congress under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended (Title VII), and the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act (PWFA) with respect to employment discrimination charges filed against state and local governments. This MOU broadly promotes interagency coordination and seeks to maximize effort, promote efficiency, and eliminate duplication and inconsistency in the enforcement of the federal employment discrimination laws. It includes provisions for coordination of the investigation of charges of discrimination on the basis of any characteristic protected by Title VII and the PWFA. Further, the MOU includes provisions for sharing information as appropriate and to the extent allowable under law.
