The general purpose of this agreement is the furtherance of the mutual interests of both the Company and the Union, to provide for the operation of the Company under methods which will further, to the fullest extent possible, the safety and welfare of the employees, economy of operation, the quantity and quality of products, cleanliness of the Company's premises, and the protection of the Company's property, and further, to provide for the establishment of a relationship betweenthe Company and its employees which will contribute to the maintenance of industrial peace and the promotion of a friendly community spirit. Both parties to this agreement recognize it to be their duty to co-operate fully with each other, both individually and collectively, towards the attainment of the said objectives.
