Informal Disposition Agreement • December 10th, 2008

• As described in Wisconsin Statutes, Ch. 48.245 (1), an informal disposition is a written agreement between an intake worker, a child (age 12 or older), the parent(s)/guardian/legal custodian of a child, or, an expectant mother who is alleged to have been abused and/or neglected. In the case of an expectant mother, it is the unborn child who is alleged to be in need of protection or services. The purpose of the agreement is to defer the filing of a CHIPS petition while services and supervision are provided to the child, expectant mother and his/her family.
