Contract Type FiledDecember 3rd, 2010The TRIPS Agreement is one of the agreements of the WTO, adopted in 1994 at the close of the Uruguay Round of negotiations under the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT). It entered into force in 1995, simultaneous with the inauguration of the WTO, the creation of which was also an outcome of the Uruguay Round. The TRIPS Agreement obliges all WTO Member countries to comply with minimum standards of protection of intellectual property.
