For two years the staff has been meeting with representatives of Moose International regarding the annexation of 470 acres of the Mooseheart property to the City of Batavia. Moose International applied for annexation on May 3, 2010. At the same time they applied for a Comprehensive Plan amendment and rezoning. Upon recommendation of the Plan Commission and the Community Development Committee (CDC) the City Council approved the Comprehensive Plan amendment on July 21, 2010. The Plan Commission then held multiple public hearings on the rezoning request and voted to recommend approval of the rezoning to the Community Development Committee on December 8, 2010.
