BACKGROUND: The Grass Valley Emergency Command Center (GVECC) is more than a simple dispatch center, providing command of incidents prior to the arrival of an incident commander (IC), and dispatching and managing appropriate resources prior to the arrival of the IC, using Command Center officers. The service from CalFire GVECC has been exemplary. The Command Center has been very responsive to the needs of local districts on the eastside by making ongoing improvements to the system so they can continue to provide the best possible emergency response with our collective resources. Our experience is that the Dispatchers are consistently well trained to State Standards and very professional. In the past, we have executed 3‐year contracts like this one.
