The Notting Hill Carnival is a major arts event in the Royal Borough. It attracts a large number of visitors and significant media attention. The participatory nature of Notting Hill Carnival has made it a success. It is an emblem of multicultural London and a draw to hundreds of thousands of people every year. The council has for many years provided an annual grant for Carnival for the management of the Carnival. Since 2012 LNHCET have been working towards a sustainable model for Carnival. This funding agreement will put in place the terms of the funding recognising the commitment to a sustainable model for Carnival.
