Contract Type FiledDecember 17th, 2019Under the Health Professions Act and the Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists Profession Regulation, the ACSLPA Registration Committee may require an applicant to undergo examinations, testing, assessment, training, or education programs for the purpose of determining substantial equivalency of the qualifications of an applicant. Completion of a period of supervised practice constitutes one such type of assessment and is typically required following successful completion of a written examination. The purpose of the supervised practice is to ensure that the new registrant has the knowledge and skills required to practice their profession, while supporting and assisting them in becoming successful, independent practitioners in Alberta.
