MEMORANDUM
Inter-Municipal Agreement (Ima) • April 30th, 2021

On December 31, 2020 an inter-municipal agreement (IMA) expired between the City of Peekskill and the Westchester County Department of Corrections. According to the terms of this expired IMA, the City of Peekskill Police Department would be responsible to transport all prisoners to and from the Westchester County Jail whenever there are required appearances at the Peekskill City Court. The Peekskill Police Department would then be reimbursed for personnel costs to do these transports as well as paid for vehicle usage at the current Internal Revenue Service mileage rate. In addition, meals provided for post arraignment prisoners are also reimbursed at a reasonable rate. While there has been an IMA in place for many years, due to the pandemic, this agreement had lapsed but is now being offered again and will be retroactive to January 1, 2020, so we are able to recoup costs already incurred. This new agreement would be in place until December 31, 2021 and shall not exceed $468,752.00.
