Under the provisions of the Sveriges Riksbank Act (1988:1385), the Riksbank has the task of "making public statistical data concerning foreign exchange and credit conditions on a continual basis". The Riksbank may, in order to perform this task, issue regulations on reporting by institutions under supervision and by issuers of securities. The Riksbank may also issue regulations on reporting for balance of payments statistics.
