Administrative/ Biographical Sketch On 12 April 1790, John Stevens and Adam Hutt agreed to divide their lands to their mutual benefit. The agreement lays out the manner in which this will be accomplished. The land, lots one and two in the eighth concession, was in Township No. 2, Nassau County, Province of Quebec, prior to the division into Upper and Lower Canada in 1791. After the arrival of John Graves Simcoe, Township No. 2 became Stamford Township, today it is part of the city of Niagara Falls, Ont.
