The Board of Water Works of Pueblo, CO (herein referred to as “Pueblo Water”) and the Pueblo West Metropolitan District herein referred to as “PWMD”) will soon begin a collaborative effort to monitor Lake Pueblo for the presence of Dreissenid Mussel larvae. Surveillance sampling and testing for the larvae of this invasive species has been funded by Pueblo Water since 2008, but after working together to develop the 2018 Source Water Protection Plan, both utilities expressed interest in sharing costs and data associated with future monitoring efforts.
