The State Homeland Security Program-Law Enforcement (SHSP-LE) is a core homeland security assistance program that provides funds to build capabilities at the state and local levels through planning, equipment, training, and exercise activities and to implement the goals and objectives included in the State Investment Justification and the State Homeland Security Strategy, and to fill gaps identified in Ohio’s THIRA/SPR. Funding continues to support the six mission areas of homeland security to prevent, protect against, mitigate, respond to, and recover from acts of terrorism and align with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) National Priorities, National Preparedness System and the Core Capabilities, as they relate to terrorism prevention in Ohio.
