words and expressions (including words and expressions defined in clause 1.1) in the singular shall include the plural and vice versa; references to a “party” or the “parties” shall mean S4C and/or the Company as the context requires; references to any gender shall include every gender; references to a person shall be construed so as to include any individual, firm, corporation, government, state or agency of a state or any joint venture, trust, association or partnership (whether or not having separate legal personality) and any combinations of any one or more of the foregoing;
