WHEREAS, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Galveston District (USACE) has determined that new construction, improvements to existing facilities, and maintenance of existing facilities of the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway Coastal Resilience Study (hereinafter, “undertaking”) may have an effect on historic properties eligible for listing in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) (hereinafter, “historic properties”) pursuant to Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (54 U.S.C. § 306108) (NHPA), as amended, and its implementing regulations (36 CFR 800); and
