The City of Urbana has participated in the Illinois Law Enforcement Alarm System (ILEAS) since 2003. The original agreement was signed by the Mayor on January 22, 2003. Since that time there have been changes in the law that requires some rewording of the agreement. ILEAS is a multi-jurisdictional police response protocol that allows the Urbana Police to request up to fifty (50) marked squad cars or various specialty teams to assist in addressing emergencies or disasters.
