As a part of our systemwide commitment to sustainability and reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 8 percent by 2027 and 100 percent by 2035, Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) desires to implement measures to reduce energy and other utility consumption across our facilities portfolio systemwide. Staff in the Office of Facilities Management and the Department of Materials Management conducted a public solicitation process via a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) #4896.2, Energy Savings Performance, to solicit and engage one or more Energy Service Companies to conduct Investment Grade Audits for Montgomery County Public Schools’ building facilities. On September 8, 2022, the Board of Education awarded a contract to Ameresco, Inc., for the completion of Investment Grade Audits at 25 MCPS schools (Resolution No. 433-22).
