The City previously licensed to Robert Lerner a certain parcel of city-owned property located near the Southeast corner of Houston St. and N. Water for placement of a small building from which Mr. Lerner operated a popcorn stand. The popcorn stand has been located in various spots in downtown Batavia for about 90 years. Mr. Lerner posted notice on the building last year that he was closing the business. He sold the business to Batavia resident Talitha Mueller. She is very excited to carry on the tradition of the Batavia Popcorn Depot as well as provide employment opportunities to young people in the special education programs of Batavia High School.
