A nominee to a position requiring Senate confirmation is required to enter into an ethics agreement that outlines specific steps the nominee will take to avoid conflicts of interest. Unless otherwise stated in the ethics agreement, a nominee is expected to comply with all provisions of their ethics agreement within 90 days of confirmation. Subsequent to the 90 day deadline, a nominee/appointee is required to submit to OGE a signed Certification of Ethics Agreement Compliance (Certification), affirming that they have complied with the provisions of their ethics agreement.
