The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) has completed the construction funding agreement for financing the Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ) project for traffic signal improvements on 11 Mile Road and 13 Mile Road. The various improvements include traffic signal controller upgrades, new or upgraded pedestrian countdown signals, and traffic signal pole replacements at 20 intersections. In addition to the initial scope of work, the downtown development authority (DDA) requested that the city include installation of mast arm signal poles at three intersections on 11 Mile Road as outlined in the construction budget and funding breakdown tables below.
