The role of the faculty or staff advisor is a unique and essential one. It is essential for the student organization and the respective faculty and staff advisor to be cognizant of the roles and responsibilities of the advisor and to be fully aware of the College’s expectations of faculty and staff in their roles as advisors to the student organizations. The advisor agrees to assist the organization, to provide an educational experience for its individual members and to be familiar with its programs and activities. An advisor is a consultant to an organization and assists in the growth and development of the group by providing direction through advice, understanding, and clarification.
