Computers and electronic devices have become a common means of communication and information access in today's society. However, these devices have the potential to disrupt teaching and learning within the school, as well as posing threats to the comfort, safety and well- being of students and staff. We believe that abuse of these devices represents a behaviour problem, not a technology problem. As 21st Century teachers and learners, we recognize the potential of these devices to enhance teaching and learning and we acknowledge our responsibility to teach students how to use them in a responsible and critical manner. The purpose of this policy is to ensure that students use technology in a manner that is respectful to themselves, other individuals and to the school community. This policy governs use of the school’s computers and computer network.
