It is the purpose and intent of the Company and the Union in making this Agreement to develop, maintain and improve relationships between the Company, the Union and the employees represented by the Union, by setting forth terms of agreement relating to rates of pay, hours of work, working conditions, benefits and conditions of employment. The mutual interests of the Company, the Union and the employees include maintenance and improvement of both the quality and quantity of service to our customer(s) so that we may keep and improve our competitive position, recognizing that such improvement has been the constant basis of greater stability of employment, the creation of new jobs and increased individual and general living standards.
