In article the licensed contract as a method of assignment of rights to the objects of intellectual own is considered. Notion of the licensed contract from positions of active law of Republic Byelorussia is determined, and also its essence from the legal and economic point of view. The distinctive features of the licensed contract by comparison to other types of contracts, its traditional sites, the main types of such a treaty, as well as the rights and obligations of the parties are considered. Justifying the need to disseminate the licensed trade, since the development of intellectual property is directly related to the innovative development of the economy.
